Hi, I’m Viv. Welcome to my book blog. A couple of notes on how it works:
reviews – according to Google, a bookend (n.) is “a support for the end of a row of books to keep them upright, often one of a pair.” To bookend (v.) something is to “occur or be positioned at the end or on either side of (something).” Review posts (even super short ones) are my way of bookending my experiences with books, movies, and other such things.
bookblurbs – sometimes I think of a sentence from, laugh out loud at, or fall in love again with something I’ve read or watched before. I write these somethings down as blurb posts.
pagecount – any posts under this category are updates for Pagecount, which is a challenge I’ve created for myself. The guidelines? Read at least one page you’ve never read before each week. The goal? Read a lot of pages by the end of the year.
booklist – a list of all the new books I discover each year (I don’t include books I’ve re-read because I do that far too often).
me – I like to read things, and sometimes I even write about them. My favorite book changes every day/week/month, but here are some of the ones that repeat the most: The Things They Carried (Tim O’Brien), The Wednesday Wars (Gary D. Schmidt), My Antonia (Willa Cather).
